ABOUT US

In the spirit of reconciliation, we are making a commitment to honour the truth and acknowledge our shared history here on Treaty 7 territory, the traditional lands of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot Confederacy),  which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, and the Kainai. We also acknowledge the Tsuut’ina and the Stoney Nakoda Nations, which include the Wesley, Bears Paw and Chiniki First Nations; as well as the Metis Nation of Alberta (Region III).

We are all Treaty people. Treaty 7 was and is a promise between nations to share the land and support one another. It is up to each and every one of us to work to make this place and the world better for all future generations.

School Council

The council advises the principal and school board on matters relating to the school and shares information and ideas with Alberta Education.

We ensure parent and community perspectives are represented in school decision-making.

All parents and guardians of CJP students are automatically members of the School Council.

School Council meetings are a great opportunity to hear directly from the CJP leadership team, have your say on new initiatives at CJP, and be more richly involved in your child’s education.

Parents Association

The CJP PA is a group of parents and guardians, incorporated under the Societies Act for the purpose of raising funds to enhance learning at the school.

Recent initiatives have funded:

  • STEM and robotics programs;
  • Artist in Residence initiatives;
  • Library and technology enhancements; and
  • A new playground!

All are welcome and encouraged to join. You just need to complete a membership form to vote at meetings, join a committee, chair a fundraiser, or stand for election.
